So for the past year I have been working at EA mobile as a creative services artist, for the game The Simpsons Tapped Out; and while working in the games industry has been great, it has been a huge struggle for me to do any personal art on the side. This has been the reason why I haven't posted to much art here over the past year; but now my contract has ended and I find myself back to being a freelance artist once more, so with that being said let the fun begin.

It will take a couple weeks I would imagine, with having to get everything to fall into place but, I WILL START TAKING COMMISSIONS!!!!!!! once I have everything sorted out.  I know people have asked in the past, and I have shied away from doing them, but I will be diving head first into commissions soon.

I also may start doing some streaming on Youtube, if there is interest there.  I'll doodle and paint while we chat about Star Wars/Movies/Music/Comics....... what ever the topic is

Plus a lot of other creative things are going on in my head :)P  I'm going to try and start a web comic, I have 3 ideas that are pretty solid, just need to pick one.

You did right by me back in the day by drawing my characters up for free on the old SWTOR forums, and perhaps I can pay you back now with some unsolicited advice. To add a little credence to my recommendations, I am the Senior Administrator for WouldYouKindly.com and WouldYouKindlyTV, a Twitch streaming team. I've been a staff member of WYK since 2010. During the past seven years, I've become pretty knowledgeable about the various social media platforms, including both YouTube and Twitch.

Stream on Twitch, not YouTube. The reason I'm suggesting this is because Twitch has a much more streamlined process for the viewer to find something they actually want to watch. If a viewer wanted to watch an artist livestream on YouTube, it would undoubtedly be an arduous task to find such a stream. Not so on Twitch. In fact, there is a "art" category specifically for artists who are streaming, and for viewers who wish to watch an artist livestream.

Twitch also opens you up to new viewers much easier than YouTube Live does. On YouTube Live, you're restricted to those viewers who have already subscribed to you, or those who have watched your videos in the past. Occasionally, you'll be slotted into a "recommended" spot on the side bar of listed videos, though that typically requires the same parameters to have been met; Either the viewer is subscribed to you, or they've watched a video of yours in the past.

Another reason I would recommend Twitch over YouTube Live is the donation/tipping mechanism that Twitch has. This enables viewers to give you money directly, given that they feel like you've earned it. Twitch also partners with streamers of a certain size (unknown to public, popular opinion is that you need consistent 1k live viewers) for ad revenue. Every time someone opens your stream, and ad will play and you'll get a portion of that ad money.

Furthermore, I would recommend posting a journal here about an hour or so before you go live on whatever platform you choose. DeviantArt obviously has people interested in art and, more importantly, people interested in your art.

As far as Never Over is concerned, I would also recommend switching to Twitch. Alongside the above reasons, the show currently has a very small audience on YouTube, and with how popular live podcasts/reaction type shows are on Twitch, I have no doubt that Never Over could eventually find a decently sized audience on Twitch. Decently sized being between 2k-4k live viewers. If you and the other hosts decide to stream on Twitch, but still want to post on YouTube, you can simply upload the stream onto YouTube.

You're one hell of a talented artist, you've always done right by me and I wish you nothing but the best.

Your old friend,

Dave Jones, aka Vavier Domi
